The Wimbledon Tennis Championship started on Monday at The All-England Lawn and Croquet Club, where it will be held this summer until the 8th July, and HolidayExtras.com are serving up some ace deals on four-star Heathrow hotels with prices available from under £57. All hotels provide easy access to the venue, so you can avoid the London traffic and leave your car behind at just £9 for 24 hours at either the Ramada or Arora International hotels.
Prices for a stay at the Ramada Hotel during the men’s and women’s finals on Saturday 7th July and Sunday 8th July start from £50.60 a night, nearly as impressive as Andy Murray’s serve. This four-star hotel runs transfers to Heathrow Airport every 15 to 20 minutes and, if you’re taking the kids, they go free of charge as long as they are with a paying adult. Plenty of ‘deuce’ can be guzzled at the contemporary Arts bar, if there’s time!
The four-star Arora International Hotel, is available from £56.64. All the rooms are air-conditioned; it’s always good to remain positive that this warm weather will last. The restaurant serves a number of different dishes from around the world, which is great if you’re sick of strawberries and cream. You could even get your hair done at the on-site salon. You never know, you could be on TV!
Another option is a HolidayExtras.com Undercover hotel, with prices starting from just £50 a night. You don’t find out the name of the hotel until you’ve booked, but you know it will be a good-quality, four-star hotel, within easy reach of the airport.
The Wimbledon Championship website strongly advises you use public transport as there’s no parking on the roads near the venue. No need to worry, though, it’s an easy route by rail. The Heathrow Connect will transfer you to Paddington Station. From there, you then get the train to Waterloo, where you change for the Wimbledon service. The journey costs just £6.40. This will leave you just a five-minute walk from the courts, all set for the first serve.
